When a peson spends hours sitting at a desk, driving or in meetings, tension can accumulate in the areas of the body most vulnerable to stress, such as head, neck, shoulders and back.

Stress and tension can also have a debilitating effect on the immune system, predisposing people to colds and other diseases because when we are in a constant state of alert, healing and tissue repair are inhibited.  The key to stress relief is therefore relaxation as healing can only take place when the body is at rest.
